Questions I’m often asked

(And answers to them!)

Why might I need Supervision?

In short – anyone who works with other human beings is likely to benefit from Supervision. It’s an opportunity to pause and catch your breath, so you can reflect on workplace interactions.

You might be working at the coalface, or a manger responsible for a team. Maybe you’ve gone home from work feeling unsure about a particular workplace interaction. You might be playing a scenario in a loop in your head and still struggling to make sense of it. Supervision helps you untangle those thought cycles so you can plan a way forward.

Ultimately this whole process will support you to grow professionally, increase your sense of empowerment and autonomy, improve workplace relationships and your overall mental health and wellbeing.

Why might I need Counselling?

Life can be unpredictable, and at times, it may feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to navigate on your own. You might be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, and are looking for a supportive space to process your thoughts and emotions. Counselling offers a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can explore these challenges, gain insight, and discover ways to create positive change. Whether you’re seeking clarity, emotional support, or practical steps, counselling can help you make sense of your experiences and provide a fresh perspective on how to approach challenges.

I’m the boss- Why should I implement Supervision in my workplace

The positive impacts of Supervision are well-documented – and include reduced stress, anxiety and burnout, and a healthy (retained) workforce that is more adaptive to change and better equipped to support idea (and solution) generation. And better outcomes for service users too.

Also, when managers and directors support their staff to access regular Supervision, they feel valued. Priceless! Not sure what it could look like for your staff- fill out my enquiry form and I’ll be in touch. You can find out more about the benefits of Supervision at the ACSA website (Australian Clinical Supervision Association).

I’m interested- How do I get started with Supervision?

The best way to get the ball rolling is to fill out my enquiry form. We can tee up a call for a quick chat, or even grab a cuppa if you’re a local. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

I don’t live in Brisbane. Can we still work together?

We can! I’m based in Brisbane, but can provide Supervision and Counselling to people in any state or territory across the country in a format that suits. That could be face-to face, over the telephone or using video-based platforms and even facetime.

How much does it cost?

Given clinical and professional supervision approaches vary from client to client, so too do the costs. Once we’ve had our initial discussions and determined we’re a good fit, I’ll put together a proposal with a few payment options for you (including discounts for multiple sessions).

Counselling costs are $195 per session. Each consultation is 50 minutes and includes a therapeutic client letter.

Why should I choose Flourish First?

In my time as a clinician, an educator and a leader, I’ve noticed a few things. That people are the experts in their own lives (not clinicians, supervisors or counsellors). That things are altogether better when communication is clear. And that if you focus on what you’re good at – and forget the things you ‘aren’t good at’, you’ll be a whole lot happier and more productive.

Flourish First brings together my 35 years of experience and collaboration with others. Supervision and counselling is the magic through which I’m able to help people like you move forward and shine.

You should choose Flourish First because I’m qualified, I have the experience, and I’m passionate about building and maintaining close relationships that support individuals and teams towards their own kind of success. Our work is person-centred and strengths-based, with effective communication at its core.

Which is great news for both of us  – especially if it can make a difference to you personally and professionally!
